Take Action
The Canadian Civil Liberties Association is urging people to make formal complaints about police misconduct.
They now have a deadline for those who want to take their complaints to the second step outlined below.
DEADLINE JULY 16th.
From the Canadian Civil Liberties Association
“You do not have to be a victim of police misconduct to file a complaint.
The complaint can be about something that you saw happen to someone else or about a policy of the police more generally. You also do not need officers’ names or badge numbers. You do not have to meet with the officer who is the subject of the complaint if it would be traumatic or abusive for you. There is also no fee or cost involved.”
Step 1- Complaint form:
http://ccla.org/2010/06/29/resources-for-g20-related-complaints/
Stays with the CCLA and is kept confidential if you request it. It is
helpful for them to have this info even if you don’t take the second step
(below)
Step 2- Optional but helpful:
Once the above form is filled out, the CCLA
may ask you if you want them to forward your complaint to Office of the
Independent Police Review Director (OIPRD – www.oiprd.on.ca) – They will contact you directly with this request.

Bubbles for Peace – G20
Join us! July 17th, Queen’s Park. 12pm
During the G20 summit our city and country was divided by the events that took place over the weekend. For many, their city completely changed in the wake of unprecedented security, police action, and mass arrests.
A woman was arrested after she was given a warning for blowing bubbles.
“If one of those bubbles touches me, it’s assault”
We need to unite in peace and solidarity and take back our city.
Please join us in getting together and sharing this symbol of peace, fun and joy. Please bring your favorite bubble making tools. Lets hope for sunny weather.
On July 17th, Canada’s day of Solidarity, we will be blowing bubbles for peace at Queens park at noon before the main rally.
See you there.
